The resort of Cala Ratjada is situated on the north eastern tip of the island. Originally a quiet fishing port the resort harbour now plays host to private yachts and cruisers. This resort on Majorca is the nearest to the neighbouring smaller balearic island of Menorca and on a clear day the capital town of Ciutadella can clearly be seen in the distance. Most of this area of the island's beaches and coves have been awarded the "Blue Flag" for cleanliness and water quality.
