Canyamel is situated between Cala Ratjada and Cala Millor, on the South East coast of Mallorca. In the 16th century sugarcane (Canyamel) was introduced into the area and the city retained this name even though the crop was only grown for 7 years.
Due to its privileged coastal location and wide sandy beach Canyamel is a perfect spot for leisure activities. There are a variety of water sports on offer and the beach has been awarded a blue flag for its cleanliness and the quality of the water. Visitors take pleasure in exploring the Arta caves situated just outside the town. Canyamel is a haven for walking and cycling and golf lovers can enjoy the Canyamel Golf Course or four other courses nearby.
