Puerto Andratx is thought to be the most beautiful natural port of the Balearic Islands. Located within the spectacular Bay of Andratx and surrounded by a breathtaking panoramic mountain landscape, this resort offers stunning views, sophisticated ambience, chic shopping and diverse cuisine making it one of the most desirable and prestigious residential locations on Majorca. The local traditional activity is fishing, but the Port also has an exclusive marina, Club de Vela Andratx. Some of the most impressive and luxurious yachts in the Mediterranean moor here. In the bay there is a small sandy beach leading into the crystal waters. The actual town of Andratx is located slightly inland and was built here initially as a defence against pirate attacks. It is very pretty, with narrow cobbled streets and superb views out to towards Puerto Andratx. The best beaches in this area can be found at the nearby resort of Camp de Mar, about three miles down the coast. Puerto Andraitx is 32 km west of Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport and is a lovely and convenient base from which to explore some of the more remote areas of the west coast of the island and beyond.
