Puerto Rico is located in the south of Gran Canaria and is the second largest resort on the island. Built within a valley, the resort has two harbours, two beaches and two commercial centres with a selection of bars, restaurants and shops. The beach is man made with its sand being imported from the Sahara and there are many water sports to partake in. There are a lot of steep hills and steps around the resort so it is not recommended for people with walking difficulties unless the accommodation is on flatter ground. This busy resort is popular with families.
