The first of the beaches on the southeast coast is Playa de San Agustín, a favourite with those tourists, who want to get away from the noisy and crowded beaches of Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, it is also popular with the locals at weekends. There are bars and restaurants in the resort that cater for all tastes.
Just about 670 m (approx. 0.4 miles) long, this beach, where the sand is a little darker than on the neighbouring beaches, has a gentle slope and it is well protected against the waves, offering excellent conditions for snorkelling and diving. There are also some nice seafood restaurants.
