Son Parc is a charming resort on the north coast of Menorca approximately 20 km west of Mahon and 7 km east of Fornells. Son Parc offers two main attractions – a sandy white beach perfect for families and sun seekers, and an 18-hole a championship quality golf course, ideal for beginners and experienced golfers alike. Around the course are wooded hills and a protected wet zone with a rich variety of bird life. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards, and offers sun beds and parasols, pedalos and canoes for hire. At the western end there is a beach side cafe and a number of water sports to try. Because of the geological makeup of this part of the island some of the sand is pink and there are thousands of shells of all sizes. The resort centre of Son Parc is very small, having only one main street where most of the bars and restaurants are situated. Son Parc is an ideal location from which to explore the many wonderful quiet coves on the coast of this small Balearic island. The larger resort of Arenal d'en Castell is within walking distance and the fishing village of Fornells is 7 km away. Mahon, with its busy port, twice weekly market and bustling shopping streets is only a short bus ride away. Ciutadella, the former Moorish capital, has a weekly market, designer shops, and sophisticated restaurants. The journey from the airport takes about 20 minutes.
